WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN YOUR ANN ARBOR LODGINGS

Looking for a place to stay in Ann Arbor? There are several options to choose from, but this isn’t a decision you want to take lightly. You have to consider your budget as well as your convenience and comfort. The ideal lodging for your Ann Arbor trip will depend on what you’re looking for, but there are a few standards you should hold to no matter what. Here are a few of our suggestions for criteria to narrow down your search options:

Location (Location, Location)

Location is one of the most important aspects of planning any vacation. Vacations are either for exploring the city or visiting for a specific purpose. Whatever the case may be, your accommodations should be close by your reason for the trip. Convenience is key, after all. University Inn of Ann Arbor is located close to the University of Michigan campus, making us a popular spot for students or families visiting a college campus. We’re also located close to hospitals in case of an emergency. Taking public transportation? We’re also located along main bus routes. Read more here...

HOW TO SPEND A WEEKEND IN ANN ARBOR

Sometimes you don’t have a whole week for your Ann Arbor vacation. Sometimes you only have a few days before you have to return back home to your daily life. That doesn’t mean your vacation has to be any less interesting. If you strategize, you can do everything you need to do in a weekend. Here are a few of our recommendations if you’re sitting in your hotel looking for something to do for the weekend:

Check Out Local Shops

Ann Arbor is the kind of city that likes to be “kept weird.” It’s full of charming independent businesses, whether restaurants, boutiques or bookstores. Take a day to stroll through Ann Arbor and check out some of the shops throughout town. If you’re a bookworm, check out Literati Bookstore for a new read and a cup of coffee. Looking for something quirkier? Check out Unicorn Feed & Supply in nearby Ypsilanti for cute stickers, terrariums, fairy gardens, and more weirdness fix. Read more here...

AL FRESCO DINING IN ANN ARBOR

You’re on vacation in Ann Arbor and want to check out the local food scene. It’s a beautiful night with mild temperatures, and the idea pops into your head of eating outside. Maybe it’s a date or a family meal, or maybe you just want to treat yourself. The question is where to go? With so many options, the answer will depend on what you’re craving on a particular night. Here are a few of our recommendations for great al fresco dining in Ann Arbor.

Bill’s Beer Garden

If you’re looking for a refreshing brew, tasty mixed drink, or glass of wine, Bill’s Beer Garden is perfect. This is a fully outdoor courtyard with a stand where you can order drinks. This isn’t a good place to go for a meal, as they primarily just serve drinks. However, you can order a pretzel or other tasty snacks to go along with your drink. Whatever you order, the atmosphere is laid back and open and the community is cheerful. Read more here...
